Histoire :
Mage, ensoleillé, avec ses prés et ses champs fertiles, reçut des Celtes son nom qui signifie «terre cultivée». A la suite de différents échanges, ventes, héritages ou autres donations, le territoire de Mage appartenait en 1381 pour un tiers à la mense épiscopale (évêque de Sion) et pour deux tiers au Vénérable Chapitre de la Cathédrale.
Story :
Mage, sunny, with his meadows and fertile fields, received his name from the Celts, which means "cultivated land". Following various exchanges, sales, inheritances or other donations, in 1381 the territory of Mage belonged for one third to the Episcopal mense (bishop of Sion) and for two thirds to the Venerable Chapter of the Cathedral.
