The Belvédère Via Ferrata in the Nax Region in brief
The Story so far... The Nax via Ferrata, located in the commune of Mont-Noble, 20 minutes from Sion, opened in 2000. It is located on the west face of the Nax rock in the locality of the Belvédère and is accessible to all (for children who weigh less than 40kg and are less than 150cm tall, a rope is recommended). Both fun and aerial, it happily caters to an audience of mountain enthusiasts and thrill-seeking summer visitors. It requires only simple techniques, with handling reduced to a minimum. From its creation, it was immediately used by many climbing enthusiasts who, for the most part, fell in love with the implementation of this Via Ferrata. With a little luck, you will be able to observe the peregrine falcon. This high-flying hunter also appreciates the panorama on offer, seeing as he made his nest on the North face of the Nax peak. A rare species that deserves protection: there are around twenty pairs of peregrine falcons in the Valais region. Finally, from the Via Ferrata, you will be ideally placed to observe the peculiar sleeping Naxard, who according to legend gave its name to the village of Nax ...
